It wasn’t too long ago that Salesforce acquired DimDim. Just over 3 weeks after this, the company is in the news again – for acquiring web based social productivity app Manymoon. This news comes on the heels of Salesforce.com investing in Loic Le Meur’s Seesmic. It also recently launched Chatter.com worldwide.
For those of you unaware of Manymoon – it is one of the most widely used project management apps on the Google Apps for Enterprise Marketplace. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed but was announced by Manymoon in a post on its blog. Though All Things Digital’s Kara Swisher estimates the deal to be somewhere in between $25-$35 million.
It also revealed that it was being used by over 50,000 businesses on 3 platforms – Google Apps Marketplace, LinkedIn and Chrome Web Store. It also said that the team will remain intact within salesforce and assured its customers that the existing Manymoon Standard version will remain free and be available to existing and new customers. Premium features and their pricing points remain unchanged. It also highlighted its commitment to keep developing for the three platforms and to support existing customers.
